Underneath a Full Moon

I have come to realize that he’s just a guy. A great one, maybe, but not mine. I don’t need to do things to make him love me, because if he wanted to, he would.

Yesterday was a pretty eventful day that drained me not only physically and mentally, but also emotionally. Cold breeze, starless sky, and an empty Sunken Garden (except for a pair of lovers doing something I didn’t bother to know): a perfect evening to smoothly shift from acads mode to emoshitnal1 mode yet again.

After the easier-than-expected final examination in Comm100 where I had to use two pens because it was that long, I finally got to talk with 3 comrades from the collective I belong to, ANAKBAYAN U-wide. I was filled with remorse that I didn’t tell them, especially Master Voltz2, sooner about it. I begged for a punishment for keeping them in the dark for a very long time. I should’ve known better in the first place.

The bright full moon was a witness to the political, religious, and, of course, romantic dialogue between Maymay and yours truly. “I pity you,” she said regarding the current state of my like life. “I pity you for falling for a(n immoral) person (like) him. It must be hard.

Yes, it is. I pity myself too. But moreso the real aggrieved person in the situation.

SideDish: I was happily munching on some yummy Butterfinger minibars when I noticed a beautiful brand name on top of the wrappers: Nestlé.

Ignorance can lead to sickness. And before anyone asks: Oo, masarap ang pawis, luha, at dugo ng mga manggagawa.3 Honestly, it’s hard to boycott Nestlé. *sighs*

1 - Emotional. Coined by Talamasca.
2 - Chairperson of AB U-wide
3 - Transliteration: Yes, delicious are the workers’ sweat, tears, and blood.

It’s okay. I’m letting the others rationalize on my behalf, consonant to the certainty that they can do it better than I do (at least for now.) Surmount the shit; we shall, as it is but the natural order of these matters.

  4. Seijâ„¢

Oh, I am quite perplexed… Goodluck sa studies!! ^_^;; Tc…

  5. aiRah

    love, a complicated thing.

    yuck! ang corny ko..

    anyway… awww,, goodluck sayo!

    have a nice day! *hugs*

    cheers,
    aiRah

Sobrang daming luha na ang aking nailalabas dahil sa blog na ‘to! Tama na! *gets a roll of tissue paper* Hehe.

Waaah! May mention pa ang aking word. Salamat.

Anakbayan ka pala. I think my sis belonged to that group when she was still in college (FYI, she went to UP.) I think. But I’ll ask anyway.

Huh? You’re falling for an immoral dude? How immoral is he? Sya ba yung tipo na walang sinasambang Panginoon? Or is he a gigolo or something? Could you vague that up for us?

Sheesh. I’m so nosy. I’m shutting up.

Anyhoo, I hope you don’t mind that I’ve blog linked ya. Cheers.

  7. Carla

Hullo Ate Shari! I’m glad that the finals wasn’t that hard. My own exams are coming up too. Chills and thrills.

    Response to :

“I pity you for falling for a(n immoral) person (like) him. It must be hard.”

Err..what does she mean by immoral? Anyway. I love Butterfinger. Sayang. Wala na kseng balikbayan na nagbibigay sa amin. Haha. Miss ko na tuloy. :P Take care!

  8. charles ravndal

What’s with Nestlé? They have lots of nice sweet products loL!

  9. Shari

@Chau: Yeah. Easier, but hella longer.

@Ate Rose: I know the song. Geesh. How appropriate, haha! But then, he already knows that I like him. I’ve told him myself.

@Frances: I don’t know if it’s really okay. I can’t feel it’s really okay. I’m just glad we have our comrades to turn to. And I hope the “surmounting” happens soon.

@Seij: Thanks, man. Good luck with your studies too.

@Airah: Thanks for the comment. Yes, love is indeed a complicated thing.

@Talamasca: Aww dang! Compare the tears you’ve wasted with mine, I’m sure you’d be ashamed of yourself, haha! But of course I have to give you all the credit for the emoshitnal shit. Rawr, yeah go ask your sister. Maybe she’s also AB, that’d be cool. Why? Uhm, basta lang. The guy I like is immoral in every sense of the word, lol. Thanks for linking me. Will return the favor. =)

@Carla: Good luck. Or should I say condolence instead? As for the immoral part, go read my response to Talamasca. ^_^

@Charles: Yeah, they do have lots of nice products. But Nestlé company here in the Philippines hasn’t been giving its workers the benefits they deserve; instead it violates labor rights and all those inhumane things.

  10. Kathy

If the final was easier than expected, that means you’ll probably do super well. :)

I think Nestle owns a LOT of things, like… from iced tea to cookies. o__0

  11. sanmiguel

boykot nestle pa rin. nadisperse na ko dyan sa cabuyao. badtrip, gusto ko pa naman ng milo.

  12. Ellie

    I like Nestle stuff. Heh.

Anyway, you used two pens during the final? …I like those religious, political and solemn talks between me and my friends. Kind of makes me go soft and all.

Things will get better…well, there’s always the good side to everything, right?

  13. Ellie

I forgot! My school (Miriam College) is near to UP, right? I’ve been there many times already, because of my old music lessons and my visits to my grandfather. Recently, my mom drove me around and the Sunken Garden is beautiful.

  14. ems

Hey.. it appears that you sounded like you’re okay now (at least more okay than the previous days).. hehehe

by the way, what’s with nestle? Na intriga naman ako! hehehehe…

  15. Aurus

hmm i didn’t know about the nestle boycott. thanks for the heads up.

  16. Shari

@Kathy: Well, I’m hoping I did well, that’s for sure.

@Sanmiguel: Ako naman, adik sa Nido. Badtrip talaga. Anyway, may upcoming integration sa picket sa Nestlé this October. Astig!

@Ellie: Yeah, I and a couple of classmates had to use two pens. Nawalan ng tinta yung isa eh. Haha! Indeed, Sunken Garden is beautiful. Kaya nga popular make-out spot yun eh hehe.

@Ate Ems: No. I’m just trying to sound okay. I don’t want to be “depressed” anymore. As for the Nestlé issue, read my previous response to Charles.

@Aurus: No problem. Anything for the masses, hehe.

  17. Lexie

    Response to :

Honestly, it’s hard to boycott Nestlé.

Oh, ditto. I saw that last year pinned on a bulletin board in UST. My cousin used to work for Nestlé, but then again, it was just an internship. =\

  18. Theresa

It’s hard to fall for any guy in this generation actually. No definite whatsoever. From my experience, there’d be no such guy as Prince Charming anymore. All you could get close to the ideal is the choleric prototype.

I’m not really a fan of sweetmeats. But since there’d be some issue about the labor treatment there, I’d be sure to suppot the boycott. :)

  19. michelle

Ooh Sunken Garden looks really nice. why is it called a sunken garden? lol. Yay for an easy finals. I hope you’re okay.. about the guy thingy.. =| OOh i didnt know there was a boycott on Nestlé.. =/

  20. Shari

    @Lexie: Nestlé owns everything. Geesh.

@Theresa: Agreed. But maybe, maybe a Prince Charming really exists. Just not the way we want him to be. ^_^

@Michelle: Because it sinks every year. :) Hah!

  21. Brandy

Sure sounds like you made out well with the exam. Sounds like you lucked out.

Mmm. Nestlé is the shit. I love it.

  22. Lisa Marie

I hope you aced the exam. Thanks for your comment. You are so sweet!!! *Hugs* I am slowly getting better from the panic attacks. U ROCK! :)

  23. Euri

    Wow… Pretty place… I haven’t been to Sunken Garden. Sounds romantic. =3

  24. Nina

  30. Shari

Brandy: I hope so. I need to get a good grade because it’s one of my majors this semester.

Lisa Marie: Glad you’re getting better. :)

Euri: Hmm, it is. If you have someone to call your own, haha! Favorite make-out spot nga raw eh, besides The Lagoon.

Nina: Hah! At least you have a new web log entry, eh? :p

Gee: Gantihan lang yan, harhar! Birthday gift ko sayo yung quote.

Jenny: No, not really. Mahaba lang talaga yung exam. Six essay questions. About Nestlé, true.

Melle: It’s not really always my problem, that’s why I’m all worked up about it.

    Nicolah: Thanks! :)

    Kristine: So cliché eh?

  31. Aravis

Oh gosh, don’t tempt me! I’m so ready to kill for a Nestle bar right now… :(

  32. Laarni

guess what? im back online? Milenyooooooo! hehe.
    whasssssapening here?

    inlababo. inlabada. :p

  33. ate ems

Really? They used to be great. In fact my uncle used to be their employee. Nestle even paid for his studies because the company sees the potential in my uncle.

  34. Shari

    Aravis: Hehe tempt tempt :p

    Laarni: Webaks! Tagal mo ha!

    Ate Ems: Issue long overdue.

I’ve made a blog entry about Nestlé but I can’t post it. I don’t know what it is with web sites that I can’t post anything but comments. Grrr!

  35. gee

    Response to :

Gee: Gantihan lang yan, harhar! Birthday gift ko sayo yung quote.

  36. Risa

chocolate is a cure for anything especially the depressed and sad sort of mind.
    It’ll be ok.
    Though (like)ing people sucks incredibly.

  37. Danni

That quote is amazing. I looove it. XD

I hope everything gets better soon! Liking people can be horror to the ultimate degree, but remember.. you’re going to get over them!

  38. Shari

Gee: Uy, di kaya. Mabait ako noh! Kaw pa! Hapi bertdey! :p

    Risa: *looks for choco bars*

    Danni: How I wish….
