Blog Parteeh + Family Drama = Pictures
Please stop congratulating me. I didn’t win the the iPod Video. Just because the title suggests it doesn’t mean it’s true.
I’ve heard that after the Blog Parteeh 07 Saturday night, the organizers planned for the next one in June. Exciting! I do hope it pushes through. I’ve had so much fun at the parteeh that I want to share the experience with everyone else who were not able to go. Wishing that there will be more sponsors and donors, and more freebies to give away. And this time, a sure box of Krispy Kreme donuts for everyone, please. I should’ve stolen Marhgil’s box because, as luck has it, he’s diabetic. Yes, Marhgil. I’m rubbing salt into your wound. Love me still?
I love this picture taken by Jayvee. I’ve freely taken this from his online gallery. I’ve always known that I don’t give justice to my pictures, but this portrait just makes me smile. I have a feeling though, that the focus is really on my digital camera, which, in all honesty, I don’t really know how to operate, hehe. I’ve got no decent night scene photos tuloy. Some randomly fun pictures.
Marcelle the magician-slash-Wave 89.1-DJ says my reactions to his magic tricks “were extremely interesting.” Really now. If he thinks that the horrified look on my face while he was doing his thing was interesting, who am I to argue? And the Liquid Metal trick? It really did me in. I know he can’t really read minds; I’ve been thinking 4 of hearts the whole time. But dammit, I admit that he’s amazing. Everyone else says so.

The day after the blogparteeh07, my family and I went to Malabon to meet my second cousins from the US. They left just yesterday. As expected, my evil aunt made another scene. Really, if she wanted peace while talking with the operator on the phone, she shouldn’t have made the call in the same room with us people who were merrily eating and having fun. She shouted at us to shut up because she couldn’t hear what the person on the other line was saying. Her voice was enough to set out male baldness amongst my male relatives. Of course I couldn’t hide my reaction. Everyone knew of the bad blood between the two of us anyway. I saw no reason to try to cover up my dismayed and irritated face. Oh, nevermind. I took a few indoor and outdoor pictures of my childhood neighborhood.
And because I have promised myself that I’d take on reading again because of my deteriorating English vocabulary and skills, I bought a lot of bargain and second-hand books yesterday. Five of the 32 paperbacks are written by Lurlene McDaniel, one of my favorite authors. Her heart-wrenching novels never fail to bring tears into my eyes. And I just have to laugh when I read something in one of the books. The previous owner has written, “Why are Lurlene McDaniel books so sad?” Probably because she has gone through the pain of almost losing someone herself.

Hi Shari. Thank you for the link love. I added this entry to my summary also.
Woah, that is a lot of pictures! Hehe. They’re really nice though!
Oh oops, you didn’t win?? I thought I read that in your entry… LOL… Sorry… Anyways…
Ooh!! I love Lurlene McDaniel’s books!!!! Yeah, they are really sad, but they’re soo good! Hehe.
A subtle nuance of mind-reading is that even when people try to think differently, their subconscious speaks out differently.
You can fish that out through somatic gestures from the subject, and realize that what you are getting is an attempt by the subject to think of something else. That’s when you dig deeper.
Ang saya naman ng parteeh! Glad you had fun!

Wow…32 books?! Haha that’s even more than I bought in one round in the Manila Book Fair last September! Then again, that’s in Booksale and given more patience I’d probably buy that much too.
Too bad I’m on book ban until June. Huhu.
I looked at the larger version of the photo and the only book I recognized there was “Fearless”. Haha!
hahaha! akala ko kasi, meron lahat. next time, bigay ko sa iyo ang makukuha kong kryspy kreme.
Hey, BlogParteeh Lucky Table seatmate! Joni and I are inviting you to a KKBEB (Kanya-Kanyang Bayad Eyeball) this Feb 2, Friday, 1130AM at Chef D’Angelo Greenbelt (near Mercury Drug).
Bakit Chef? Dahil #1, the price is great for its value (sampler 1 nila, P110 lang, inclusive of large chicken, pasta, and pizza). #2, no way kakasya ang PHP500 Bubba Gump GC ko sa inyong lahat! 1130AM ang proposed time dahil pag 12NN yan, puno na ang Chef D’Angelo.
If you have other venues in Makati in mind, please share before Thursday. O, ano, BlogParteeh Lucky Table? Game KNB?
Nice pics, Shari! Thanks for letting me join you guys at the table. hehe.

Janette Toral: Thanks so much.
Chau: I didn’t win the iPod, yeah. Hmm….Many people assumed I won it because of the title. What I won is an ActionScript Cookbook. Hey, I totally adore Lurlene McDaniel. It’s so hard to find cheap books here in the country, grrrr.
Irish: Trust me, it’s a lot of fun. Punta ka next time.
No, no, Lurlene McDaniel’s novels are, in a certain way, love stories. The characters of her books are teenagers with ailments (cancer, heart ailments, blah blah blah). Most of the time, at least one character dies in the end.
Marcelle: I hate you. Haha!
Aravis: You should’ve been there!
Tina: It’s not everyday that I see books that are priced from PhP20-40. So I take advantage of the chance, most of the time. Bakit book ban?
Marhgil: Sabi mo yan ah!
Ganns: *groans* Are you kidding me? Don’t mistake me for an already working young woman. I’m still studying. In short, tight budget. Sige, sige. I’m not gonna eat for the rest of the week so I can save up something for Friday, haha!
Joni: Nyaiks, parang yun lang. Haha!
hello ate shari its just my first time to stummble here in your lovely home! wow that picture looks pretty hehe. mahilig ka din po pala sa books? mas mura talaga kung second hand ung iba naman magaganda pa ung mga books hindi naman mukang gamit kaya affordable tlga hehe! take care ate…
Thanks for sharing the photos. Strangely, you kind of look like one of my first cousins whom I hate very much with a passion. OK, that wasn’t in any way meant to sound like I hate you, lol.
I’m diabetic, but that never stopped me from scarfing up a few KK’s!
Yey another blog parteeh! I’m not gonna miss this one!
and grabe naman yung tita mo.. and your book list! Binili mo in one go ang halos kasing dami ng mga binili ko (at di pa nababasa) in 3 years
You’re grandmother was very pretty
How I wish I was at the party last Saturday. My day would be a lot more interesting if I was there instead of going to a party of a family relative who celebrated her 92nd birthday. LOL!
I hope I can be at the next party, granted that there is really a next one. LOL!
Waah?! 32 books? Ang dami nun hu?
Looks like u really had fun ate! u look purdy sa pic mo :D. ung first one.
Awesome pictures! That blog party thing seems to be a lot of fun and I wish I’ll be able to attend the next time around.
Gaah. 32 paperbacks in a day?! I’ll be lucky if I’m able to buy a new book in a month. I seem to be losing my reading skills as well (together with a big chunk of my brain cells)
Nicole: Hello.
Fruityoati: You shouldn’t have! Noticed the similarities, I mean.
Ann: It’s been years since I last buried my nose on a book. Bawi lang.
Christian: Yeah, yeah, attend the next one.
Sherica: Thank you.
Anne: Well, I guess I’m just making up for the lost time. Ano raw? Haha! You’re back!
waw meron ulit sa june? aba halatang updated ever ka noh? hmm dba snb mo nmn hnd ikaw ang nanalo sa ipod? i guess may mga taon halatang d nagbabasa hehe whew buti hnd ako gnon LMAO
ahahaay. si darwin na-meet mo! :P
thanks for sharing.
Book ban: because I spent too much on books on my trip to Doulos. And last December. And September. Haha. In short, I spent a lot on books last year…and I’m banning myself for now because I want to finish at least half of those I bought before. I have about…12 novels waiting to be read right now, and because of work, I finish a book in a week, whereas I used to finish one in three days.
Of course, if a pretty nice book comes my way…then…why not. :P
wow ha mukhang nag enjoy kayo sa parteeh, first time kong nakita pic mo
so cool that you had fun. those pics are funny.
lol.
Aisha: Believe me, I know a lot of people who take one look (and sometimes no look at all) at the title. Sighs
Laasya: Hehe, anong meron kay Darwin?
Tina: Really? Eh kasi mura mga libro sa Doulos. My mom even got me one book, parang pet grooming something. Kaso most of the books there are Christian books diba, kaya ayun.
Good luck naman, sana matapos mo na yung mga libro. Ako kasi, once I pop, I can’t stop. I can finish 5 books in one day, easy-easy (kuno) lang ako nun.
Ethel: First time? Oh no! You’ve been missing out on a lot ahaha!
Anna: Yeah, thanks.

Please … Stop … Torturing … Me!
Haha! LOL!
oo, ganda nga nung picture mo, kaso nga lang sa camera/table naka focus. asus anu ba yan. parang ang saya nga nung blogparteeh. baka makauwi ako between may and june, sana makaabot ako sa blgoparteeh at sana ma invite ako. ^^ ala lang. heheh.. ang tita mo nga naman, ibang klase, sabihin mo congrats, nakuha nya attention niyo, leche. hehe. daming books nyan ah. ayos!
Hahahaha… The age old test to check who actually reads your blog entries ha? A misleading title… I passed it didn’t I? I just believe it’s better not to comment at all if you don’t read the entry.
I too love the small notations people write on second hand books. Or the lines they highlight or the dog ears they make on pages they must’ve liked. It adds history to the book.
Glad you had a wonderful time at the Blog Parteeh. Thanks for sharing the interesting details and the lovely photos. You have a lovely smile.
Love your stash. I enjoy those kind of parties and functions with great freebies.
Sorry to hear about what transpired between you and your aunt.
Aja: It works.
Nina: Sabi nga ni nanay, pang-artista. Haha!
Oist, let’s meet up ha?
Alternati: True. And I’m quite dismayed that some people fell for it. You passed, you passed. Hehe!
Ate Rach: Thanks too. You should’ve been there.
Wow, cool pictures. I hate family drama. I have an uncle I don’t get along with. We fight about everything…including how I do my laundry!
uys, kasama mo pala si mae..
sayang, sana nakasama din ako sayannggg!! hehe!
but anyway.. kelan ang susunod? hehe.. !! kakainggit naman gusto ko din sumama..!
:P takecare
Great photos…looks like fun…thanks for sharing. Ingat lagi
sorry for the double post but I forgot to say I really like your image header MEOW ^,,^
Nyahaha, halatang di nagbabasa ng buong blog entry.
oh… iba na naman design mo! hahaha
Charity: The laundry? Haha, sorry. Just had to laugh.
Ate Rose: Bisita ka kasi dito sa Pinas, punta ka. *hugs*
Rebecca: Thanks, hehe!
Renee: Yeah, napaghahalataan.
Talk about leaving a comment for the sole sake of receiving one.
Mae: Nyaiks, hehe. Masama? Sige, balik ko sa dati.
ZOMG you actually went to that party? Buti naman hindi ka minura at pinagbabato ng mga closet Pacquiao fans. Grudges, grudges, grudges. Kidding.
Lovely photos. And too bad you didn’t bag the Ipod! :-)
Krispy Kreme. Oh, the love. Haha. I definitely need to go to Megamall the first chance I get. Ang gusto ko lang naman dun, ang original glazed. Yum. Haha.
Pareho kayo ni Darwin ng sinabi na dapat pumunta ako. Oh well.
You enjoyed yourselves, that’s enough for me.
32 paperbacks? Dude, when you’re done with those books, pahiram.
Especially that Fearless book that I saw somewhere there. Haha
Lol, would have been great if you won the iPod.
Great pictures btw. :]
Congrats for you new ipod! ;-)
Great pictures! Looks like it was real fun !
Is that blog parteeh 07 your talking about somewhat an eyeball of bloggers who don’t know each other offline? That sounds cool. But, knowing myself, I wouldn’t have attended. I’m shy and I prefer talking to people through messenger rather than on actual. Weirdo.
It sucks when you’re living with someone you absolutely loathe. The scene involving your aunt and you was full of tension. If only I could be as brave as you whenever our maid is around, then she’ll realize who the real boss is. hahaha
haha! nman! dim-lit room nga nman! haha. :P
Nice pictures! Wow, you got 32 books? That’s a lot of books. XD My boyfriend got me 3 books last December and I still haven’t finished the first one, lol.
Talamasca: Believe me, I was afraid of that! Considering that I know 2 certain people who said *something* about me during the controversy, haha!
Lexie: I haven’t even tasted a donut from Krispy Kreme. Asar, haha! You should’ve been there!
Sure, sure. I’ll lend you the Fearless book, if you lend me Chance until you finish it hehe.
Jas: Hehe, I know.
Sidney: Kulit! Haha!
Ray: Yes, yes, the parteeh of the year!
I prefer talking with people on blogs rather than messengers.
Paeng: I vote for a dim-lit room. But whatever, depende naman sa performance yun, nyahaha!
Nanda: I can get too involved while reading.
cool pics.. sama mo ako nest time ahh
*LOL at Talamasca*
uhmmmm darwin? wala lang. hehehe.
Shari said,
Tara let’s go on a Krispy Kreme-filled day. Haha, I just want an original glazed doughnut. Just one would make me happy.
Hmm. I guess that would be… one hour? Haha. If you want to borrow Chance, you should lend me something like… Faust. Yes, Faust, I would love to read that.
Melle: Sure.
Laasya: Kala ko isyu, haha!
Lexie: Haha, I’m just gonna get myself a puppy na lang, lol.
sayang di ako kumuha ng pictures. hehehe
i changed my podcast (tinapon ko na yung una). hehe. I hope you find it as funny.
Picture time! Wow Jayvee got some really cool pictures…I See mine there wearing red and looking as good as I can be
Rewind…Stop..Play! Your Evil Aunt??? Haha it reminds me of Aunt Martha I think of Harry Potter, where the evil aunt blows up and eventually end up only sick *sigh*. Your aunt is *pure evil* well hope it goes well after that “janitor” thing…
Misyah!
woi ako din link mo :P may konting pic sa blog ko hehehehe
nag e-ebay ka din pala noh :P
Benj: Di bale, dami ka namang pics, haha. Sige, I’ll listen to your new podcast. Sana this time around mas maintindihan ko, lol.
LA: Ganda nga ng portrait pics ni Jayvee. Kainggit.
Poell: Eh kasi naman laging nagda-down yung site mo sa akin, hindi ko makuha yung permalink.
“Ako kasi, once I pop, I can’t stop. I can finish 5 books in one day, easy-easy (kuno) lang ako nun.”
Are you a speed reader or what? Turuan mo ako…
Digicam-kuha lang ng kuha… burahin na lang ang di maganda hehehehe..
[...] And who could ever forget about the first major party of the year? The BlogParteeh ‘07 was awesome, of course! This photo was taken by Jayvee. My best shot, as far as I’m concerned. More yummy pictures in Multiply and my blog entry. [...]
