Sparky: The Alexa Toolbar for Firefox
Well, pardon the absence. I’m not in the mood to blog lately, but you can always add me in Twitter and Multiply to keep track of my activities.

Alexa recently marked its 10th anniversary with the release of Sparky, the much-awaited Alexa Toolbar for Firefox. It doesn’t matter that the Alexa ranking can be easily manipulated (that’s what the so-called trains are for, duh?!), it still is one of the most popular factors in gauging a site’s popularity and ranking.
Feature Overview
- Sparky is a free FireFox browser plugin that accompanies you as you surf, providing useful information about the sites you visit without interrupting your Web browsing.
- Learn about Web sites Traffic Trend information.
- Get detailed traffic information including Reach and Rank.
- Surf more efficiently with Related Links for each page.
Sparky Features
- Related Links: Sparky also comes with Alexa’s famous patented Related Links feature built right into the browser. Now, no matter what site you are on, Sparky can help you find similar sites.
- Traffic Trend: Sparky’s trendline feature allows you to track a website’s popularity over time, plotting the traffic rank for the last 4 months on a handy little sparkline.
- Reach Meter and Traffic Rank: Sparky’s reach and rank features give you a quick overview of a site’s popularity. The blue bar gives you an overall indicator - is this site popular or not? The rank number tells you exactly how this site ranks in comparison to all other sites on the Web.
- Click Menu: With a click on Sparky you have immediate access to a wealth of additional information. Do a search for the site, find sites that link to it, see who owns it, where it is located, related links and much much more.

Goodeey!
Yehey, downloaded it na.
Ma-download nga mamaya…thanks for posting this.
Interesting!
Will download it too …
I just hope my visitors download it as well. Hehe… Should I bother posting it on my blog, too?
di ako pwede magdownload niyan, la naman ako pc… hehe..
la ka ba post sa anti-terror chuva? wala lang… naghihintay lang ako ng maaanghang na salita eh… hehe
Aja: Exactly. I’ve been searching for an option to turn it off (note: not uninstall the extension), hehe. Post about Sparky on your blog? Sure, sure! I mean, why not? Sparky’s such a snarky name for a plugin anyway. LOL.
Dotep: Hehe, pwede yan. Di naman nila malalaman eh.
Anyway, the Human Security Act? I’ve a lot to say about it, but I’ll save it for later. They’re (okay, we’re, sige, kahit wala naman talaga akong ginagawa haha) organizing a forum some time next week (or maybe the week after) to start the Bloggers’ Kapihan series. First off, Anti-Terror Law and its effects on blogging/bloggers/MSM. It hasn’t been finalized yet though. Punta ka ha.
This entry beats the hell out of me. Wherefore art thou, Shari?
Teka-teka-teka naku-culture shock pa ako sa Alexa stuff na ‘yan. Nyehehe. Dehins ko pa masyadong alam ang tungkol diyan. Toinks.
thanks for this info! hmmm…. ma-add nga kita sa multiply.
ill download this when im home. salamat sa info!
No idea about those Alexa stuffs. Lol.
Ako ata ang kaisa-isang commenter na hindi mag-ddload. Bawal sa pc shop..
@Tala, on vacation. Please force her to come back.
@Kevin, hmpf, I always download stuff on PC shops. They wouldn’t know anyway. Nga pala, why’d you ask me last night about the you-know-what? You never did respond to my…err…response.
Oi this is nice!
Sparky. Reminds me of my auntie’s doggy. LOL. Will download this when I’m home. :P
Hmm, nice…
Nice, I installed and tried it today.
I was actually already using something similar already — SearchStatus, a toolbar extension for Firefox and Mozilla that allows you to see if a site has nofollow enabled. You can also view a site’s GooglePank, Alexa popularity ranking, backward links, Alexa incoming links and Alexa related links with this tool.
On a different note… not to be offensive, but this entry just doesn’t have your usual… lively “spark”… Wishing you well..
Will the real Misteryosa please come back?
L8tr days. Enjoy your pseudo blog break.
@Massa P, you noticed?
I’ve been noticing that since, well, 2 months ago? Sighs. Anyway, I also have SearchStatus.
Nge. I don’t use Firefox. huhu
huwaw! sabagay, mamaya baka dahil lang sa sumasayaw na gloria dito sa blog mo eh mahuli ka… hehe.. malaki nga epekto nun… sana free sked ko pagdating ng kapihan na yan… see you soon…
Thanks for the link to this! I’ve been waiting for this as well.
I’m not a big fan of toolbars and everything, this one sounds very interesting though. Thanks for sharing!
Pretty interesting
i think i’m going to give it a try!

You are better off using the Google Toolbar. Check for spyware and adware if you ever install this Alexa Toolbar. Use Ad-Aware, DarkSpy, Spybot, Windows Defender, SuperAntiSpyware, the two versions of CWShredder, AVG Antispyware, and a2 to make sure. Use HijackThis too if you know how to interpret the HJT scan log.
