When a Cat Meows From Under The Vehicle
Bloggers’ Kapihan 3.0 has come and gone. All thanks to Mr. Dohn Nalumen Jr. of Kape Tasyo, Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo, Cristina Palabay of Gabriela, and all the attendees for the support.
Vencer did live blogging while I did live twittering (well, I tried). Hot damn that was hard! I easily lost focus on things partly because Robby was badgering me all the time. Blah.
Tonyo released a press statement shortly after.
After the event, brother and I went to Gateway to meet up with our mom. I finally got to spend the Rustan’s gift certificate my dad gave me last year, and what better item to spend it on than a pair of new sandals from Havaianas? My first Havaianas, actually. I had to settle with the it because everything in Rustan’s was overpriced and absolutely way out of my league (both in size and price, haha). I could feed a family for a week with my goddamn slippers. How frigging unnerving. Imagine stepping on a thousand-peso cake.
Moving on…So my mom and brother and I waited for my dad at Seafood Island. This time around, we ordered the Bento Boodle - a classic feast of tuna sashimi, tofu nuggets, miso soup, salmon belly teriyaki, crab tempura, beef yakiniku, pork tonkatsu, chicken teriyaki, sauteed vegetables, and Japanese fried rice - all for PhP660. The order is good for three to four people, but we still had a little difficulty licking the leaf plate clean like this one. And agaaaiiiinnnn
when I tried to order Piña Colada, the guy inspected me and told me it’s an alcoholic drink.
Like, really! Do they do that all the time?!
Now where am I?
Oh, yeah. The title of the post.
My brother’s feeling a bit sick (no doubt because of his kakulitan) so my dad went to fetch the car instead of all of us going at the parking lot. And just when my mom and I were about to get in, mom heard meows…coming from under the vehicle. At first we couldn’t find the damned cat that was doing all the meowing. After a few minutes parked in front of the restaurant looking like complete idiots, looking for an invisible meowing cat, the security guard of Seafood Island approached us and asked what was wrong. A couple of eras later, a black kitten finally emerged and ran off to where the car was parked earlier. Like hey, we could have catnapped a damn black kitten!
And to think that if my mother’s hearing ability was a little less sharper, the poor kitten would’ve been home with us, if not poor-kitty dead.
I’m scared to drive when I see a cat around! I’m scared that I’ll end up killing it because I had started the car while it was in it or something! LOL…
Thanks for escorting me to the MRT stations entrance. Gateway sure is kinda labyrinthy what with all the people inside. And oh, the company as well. I tried to introduce myself to the members pero nahiya ako. Damn that stupid Cavite-Manila traffic.
And seriously, that LRT 2 experience is my very first. Reminds me of Tsim Sha Tsui in Hongkong… only I was 14 years younger.

Grabe… that’s so amazing! She actually heard that? I better have my ears checked by an EENT… Parang medyo nabibingi na rin kasi ako. THanks to your mom’s sharp ears, hindi nag-g-ggg—– ayokong i-type.
i hate cats, but i like their stupidity. pusang kalso would’ve been a good flickr photo. yes? no? why?
cats are lame. they’re lazy and whenever they come near to me, an asthma attack will occur. eww. but cats are cute. except the black ones. they are the creepy ones. not being so superstition or what, but they are just literally CREEPY.
Been a while since last ako dumaan dito… I just noticed we’re using the same emoticons… hehe… we’ve had that cat under situation too.. they apparently like the heat… but we’ve run over most of the cats that decide to stay under… haha… nga pala I’m such a complete idiot but I just want to ask… since I’ve been seeing people talk about it… what’s the deal if you have a high Google pagerank? and higher authority in technorati? I dunno why I’m asking you this but since you’ve complained about people not adhering to web standards I figured you have a thought or two.. but I’m doing my research… hehe…
^I think I got PageRank and Technorati na…
Neil, no big. Like, ikaw pa?! Hahaha!
Bulitas, Irrrrrrrviiiiiinnnn!!!! Apir! Miss na kita! Anyway, naku asa ka pa. Pero ako aasa na sana kahit man lang sa isang installment ng BK event ay makapunta ka (kahit siguro sa panaginip lang hehe)!
Keysi, no? Yes? Why not?
Gyk, my relatives used to own a black cat, and one day, it bit me. Yeah, they’re creepy. But hey, some are friendly
Jais, love these emoticons. Aneesah’s one of my fellow Pixelled.com-hostee way way way back and I’ve always been a fan of her works.
Ah, cats. Such moody creatures.
Google PageRank is something you should be concerned about if you want to make big money online. Otherwise, it’s just a less-than-accurate measurement of your website’s importance. Factors are the number and quality of the backlinks you get from related sites. Technorati? An almost forgotten way of suckily ranking blogs in the blogosphere. Also a sucky authority-measuring tool.
I have the easiest explanation for things like them. Hahaha!
late reaction as I am known for, so very nice of you guys to think about the kitten. Not everybody would do such a thing. Wish I was there, I am looking for a black cat for myself.
This would be somewhat related to your article since you mentioned the left-leaning Rep. Ocampo and Gabriela, they being anti-GMA.
The main problem is that we have a very illegitimate democratic system. Our voters elect only those people who are popular and not if they are capable. The big dilemma if GMA is ousted, the VP will take over who was elected PURELY because he’s popular with the masses, and not because he’s capable to lead the nation. Our economy has never grown this much, I don’t want to take the chance by entrusting it to someone solely popular with the masses.
To prevent this transfer, no matter how believable Lozada initially is, his credibility is now being questioned. He admitted that a certain level of corruption is acceptable to him. Questions have arisen whether he was kidnapped, because his celphone was not confiscated, he dined in Outback restaurant, and he was able to go to the place he wanted to go all along, that is, La Salle Greenhills. I even read he committed a sin of omission regarding his consultation with the wife of Sen. Joker Arroyo. He didn’t correct the impression in which it appeared the wife invited him to her house to urge him not to testify, when the fact of the matter is (based on what I read) Lozada was the one who contacted the wife around September before Joey de Venecia testified, and he was crying and that he doesn’t want to testify. So the wife invited him to her house, and told him she couldn’t lawyer for him due to conflict of interest since her husband is a Senator, while he was then president of Philforest. She advised him then, since he was so distressed, that he doesn’t have to testify if he didn’t want to. Since this was one of those ordinary free consultations, she didn’t bother to tell Joker about it. So Joker was surprised when his wife was mentioned.
Good thing you checked. I remember one NOT SO LUCKY cat that was in my brothers engine. We heard the crying but we didnt say anything to each other because we thought we were hearing things. A few minutes later, we saw a furry ball in the rear view…
